One of the joys of living in Guinea Bissau is being within a stone's throw from the Bijagos Archipelago. Popular with sport fishermen, the islands are notoriously difficult to get to. After a calm two hour speed boat ride out of Bissau, we landed in Roubane.
The island is tiny, pretty much deserted and surrounded by white sand beaches and warm see through water. Accommodations were rustic, but the fish was fresh and deliciously prepared. Aside from a horrible speed boat ride back to Bissau on choppy waters, I'd do it all again!
